The Park Eul-bok Embroidery Museum represents the 'Now & Then' Duksung Faculty Show as the springinvitational exhibition in 2014.
The selected artworks are of 6 professors at Duksung Womens University,Sinja Lee, Soonhee Oh, Sanghoon Yang, Eunok Lee, Jaebum Lee and Soyoung Ahn, who have studiedoverseas, have been both productively making art and educating both since their returns.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary this year, the Fiber Art Department at Duksung has periodically changedits name from Applied Art, Industrial Art, Surface Design, Textile Art to Textile Design, and has remarkably developed under the supervision of 6 professors, who have trained throughout the world in countries such as France, Italy, U.S, the U.K, and Korea.
The exhibition provides an insight into on contemporary fiber art through the last 50 years from Sinja Lee, one of the most prominent first generation in textiles in Korea, it is also an opportunity to appreciate the wide ranges of fiber art from 2D and relief to 3D artworks, that carry out tactile and substantial qualities for their subject matters. |
