Successive work of 7 artists

The opening exhibition of 7 modern and contemporary fiber artists will be held at Park Eul-Bok Embroidery Museum in spring 2012. Um, Jung Yoon, Kim In-Sook, JungLey Park, Yun, Mi-kyung, Youn, Soonran, and Sang Yung Lhee have been bringing out unique and artistic expressions in step with cultural flow in our time, which has expanded boundaries of the medium of fiber and associated techniques. The exhibition covers traditional embroidery artworks to contemporary 2D, relief and 3D works in fiber.
Since the selected artworks are produced from 1930 to 2010, it will be an opportunity to overview the centennial progression of modern and contemporary fiber art. Through 7 artists' refreshing comprehensions of conventional embroidery, a stepping stone can be found in searching for new possibilities in embroidery. |
