The works of Contemporary Korean Fiber artists will be held at Park Eul-Bok Embroidery Museum on the following fall of 2010.
This exhibition was hosted to transfer the title ‘Contemporary Korean Fiber Art: Reinterpreting the Patchwork Wrapping Cloth’ at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum (AAM) in 2008.
Kwon Chee-Yun, the former curator of the AAM and Oh Soon-Hee, the professor of Textile Dept. in Duksung Women’s University were co-curator and did generous efforts in the exhibition which 6 Korean Fiber artists participated.
The Contemporary Korean Fiber Art exhibition in AAM has lots of enthusiastic attention from the people in USA and finally extended to mid of 2009.
It is my earnest hope that this extend exhibition at the Park Eul-Bok Embroidery Museum, Seoul will be another valuable opportunity, opening up a new horizon for contemporary fiber field in Korea. |
